ruDECOM 2017

On August 28-29, TGT Oilfield Services participated in ruDECOM, the first petroleum technology conference club held at the New Peterhof Hotel in Peterhof suburb of Saint-Petersburg.

ruDECOM-17

ruDECOM-17 is an expert and analytical event that represents an intellectual venue where oil and gas field development issues, such as design, analysis, control, and management can be openly discussed.

The ruDECOM-17 organiser and title sponsor was Gazpromneft, while TGT Oilfield Services acted as a co-organiser and partner of this conference.

ruDECOM-17 was attended by

more than 100 representatives and institutions as:

ruDECOM-17 was attended by more than 100 representatives of such companies and institutions as: Gazpromneft, Gazpromneft R&D Centre, Tatneft, Novatek, Slavneft, Lukoil, Rosneft, NKRusneft, NK Neftisa, Karachaganak Petroleum Operations, Skolkovo, RESMAN, Terratech, CarboNRT, Sofoil, Moscow State University, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Siberian Federal University, Kazan Federal University, and others.

ruDecom was the first event of this kind, combining some features of traditional conferences and intellectual games including various quizzes and master classes with a touch of show.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity for the participants to exchange their experience and advanced ideas, present new technologies and products at the exhibition stands, as well as establish beneficial acquaintances in comfortable and accommodating environment.

Within the scope of the conference club ten presentations were made at four topic-specific sessions:

— Reservoir Development Analysis      — Reservoir Development Control
— Reservoir Development Monitoring      — Reservoir Engineering

Much interest was aroused among the participants by a presentation titled Spectral Noise Logging Overview (with a live demo) made by Julia Maslennikova, TGT Lead Engineer/Analyst of Spectral Noise Logging Department, who gave an update on the latest advancements in spectral noise logging and efficient application of SNL tools in surveying production and injection wells both in shut-in and flowing regimes with the purpose to identify reservoir flow zones, casing and tubing leaks, active perforations, cement channellings, and cross-flows through rocks and fractures.

The hotel lounge accommodated poster sessions with master classes given by the participating companies. TGT specialists gave three master classes: Termosim profiling, Spectral Noise Logging with a live demo of SNL tool operation, and 3D printer prototyping.

The most attractive feature of the conference was PetroCup, an intellectual and analytical game devoted to oil and gas subject matters, which gave the participants a perfect opportunity to take on the role of oil and gas field development team members. Nine teams competed to be nominated the best.

The game’s focus area was a geological and hydrodynamic 3D model of a synthetic oilfield with production history dated 1995-2017. The participating teams were supposed to work out and come up with some well interventions aimed at reaching the highest cumulative oil production in five years since the starting point of the game (01.01.2018). The game was divided into five phases called ‘shots’.

The winning team was Mel, yielding the best production results. Remarkably, the winning team had two TGT specialists among its members - Rustem Khamitov and Alexander Frolov. The cup was awarded to the champions and participant certificates were given to other prize winners.

The high acknowledgements received from a number of the conference participants gives us grounds to say with confidence that ruDecom 2017 was not just a success but it even exceeded the expectations of the organizers.

We sincerely hope for further fruitful cooperation with all representatives of the companies that participated in the conference club and expect to meet them at ruDecom 2018!
